Dr Moeed Yusuf

Vice Chancellor, Beaconhouse National University & Former Adviser to PM on National Security

Moeed W. Yusuf is the Vice Chancellor of Beaconhouse National University, Pakistan's first not-for-profit liberal arts institution. He served as the youngest National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, pioneering the nation's first-ever National Security Policy. He has also led the Strategic Policy Planning Cell, the government's intellectual hub for evidence-based policy input.

Mr Yusuf holds extensive experience in policy research and teaching in the US. He was the Associate Vice President of the Asia Center at the US Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC. Before joining USIP, he was a fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center at Boston University and a research fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center at Harvard Kennedy School. He has also worked at the Brookings Institution, co-founded Strategic and Economic Policy Research in Pakistan, and served as a consultant for international organisations like the UNDP, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank.

A seasoned educator, he has lectured at esteemed universities, including Boston and George Washington Universities. His notable publication, 'Brokering Peace in Nuclear Environments' was launched by Stanford University Press in 2018. Mr Yusuf holds a Master’s in International Relations and a PhD in Political Science from Boston University.
